Trying to figure it out.

So, I just bought an 88' Trooper. Bone stock with the 2.6L FI. Car would crank but would not start. Checked for gas leaks. Found a leak in the fuel line coming to the Fuel Pressure Regulator (FPR). Replaced the line. Tested. Good pressure out of FPR now. Tried to crank. No start. Checked for spark out of the Ignition coil. Got spark from coil to wire. Also spark from wire to distributor cap. No spark to plugs.

Replaced rotor and cap. Spark to all plugs now. Pic of the new cap on...

However all are orange instead of bright blue. Will crank but not start. Tested compression on the 4 cyls and all are good. It has a new fuel pump. Fuel tank has pressure.

By searching forums online, I think that I've narrowed it down to 4 things.

In order by cheapest replacement.

1. Coolant Temp Sensor - The one that goes to the ECU, not the dummy light or the Guage
2. Ignition Coil.
3. Ignition Control Module.
4. Crank Angle Sensor.

Any Ideas?

Gotta figure out how to test these before dropping the cash to replace them

Please be kind as I'm a newbie to the 2.6L
